Lafayette Basketball
Boys and girls basketball teams have been around for the last 5 years at Lafayette. With Robert Johnson coaching the girls, and Lauren Shapiro coaching the boys, they have accomplished some amazing things! Come join the fun and be part of the team. Practices are typically held 2 days per week after school. Once the season starts, each team will usually have one game per week as well.

Accomplishments

The 2006-07 Lafayette Girls Basketball Team won the DCIAA Region B award and the City Championship with a winning record of 10-0. The season was named the "Perfect Season" by the players. Lafayette returned the following 2007-08 season to defend it's title but fell short to Janney Elementary. Two City Championship appearances in just five seasons, not bad!
The boys made it to the Final Four in 2006-2007, but fell to Truesdale Elementary. The boys returned in 2008-09 to win the Region B Title, but lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Congratulations to both the girls and boys teams for their tremendous effort and many accomplishments! Go Bears!
