The Library Committee is thrilled to present the 2019 summer reading guide! The list is filled with books that we think students will enjoy. Students entering grades two through five will pair their reading with a project meant to nurture creativity and writing skills. A link to the list is available on the Lafayette Tech page.
We hope all students will have time this summer to read titles beyond this reading list. With access to our school’s e-books and audiobooks during the summer, students already have the perfect resource when travelling! They may also use their DC Public Library card or DC One card to access DC Public Library’s large print, audio and online collections. DC residents can also join Montgomery County’s large library system for free!
Summer is the perfect time to nurture your child’s love of story and reading. Continuing to read over the summer is vital to academic success! It is recommended that students read at least 20 minutes every day. The work you, Lafayette’s families, do to encourage your children to read regularly has a massive impact on the success of our community. Thank you for your support in this endeavor!
Have a wonderful summer, and happy reading!
