Rock Creek Extreme Clean Up

Do you know we live in the Rock Creek watershed? That means, all the water that runs off our yards and streets, and the garbage carried with it, ends up in Rock Creek. That water then flows to the Potomac River, into the Chesapeake Bay, and out to the Atlantic Ocean.

April 14 is the 10th Annual Rock Creek Extreme Cleanup–a day when people go to dozens of sites all around the watershed to cleanup the garbage that has accumulated over the winter, and keep it out of the creek.

I hate seeing trash around our neighborhood, so I asked my mom to sign me up to be a site boss for the Extreme Cleanup. My location is Little Forest Park (a.k.a. Francis G. Newlands Park on Google Maps) off Military Rd between 28th and 30th Streets.

Please come pick up trash with me, and help the animals who could be hurt by the glass, plastic and styrofoam if it gets into the water. My crew will clean from 10 am - noon, come for part or the whole time.

My site is not on the public Extreme Cleanup list. Please use this link to sign up to be on my crew.

Learn more about the Extreme Cleanup.

See you there, please be green!
