Joining our already strong social emotional learning team of Ms. Ryden, Ms. Mosby and Ms. Diesner, are Sophia Carre (Social Worker), Ashlee Adams (School Psychologist) and Monica Whitlock (Special Education Coordinator). This team is integral to the work we do in supporting the whole child.

We are also beyond excited to welcome two new special education classrooms. We will welcome to our community an Early Learning Support (ELS) classroom that will support students with disabilities in grade K-2. We will also be opening a Specific Learning Support Classroom (SLS) for students with disabilities in grades 3 – 5. I am thrilled that we will be able to serve students with a wider variety of disabilities and that our new students and families will add to the richness and diversity of our community.

Aftercare and Enrichment Update
Our new aftercare provider, CLS, has currently enrolled over 280 students and still has room for our new families. The following familiar staff have been hired: Ms. Dixon, Ms. Carr, Ms. Caniesha, Ms. Delaney, Mr. Luis, Coach Bell, Ms. Jordan, and Ms. Ivy. Mr. Benab will also split his day working in the main office in the mornings, and then as the on-site program coordinator for aftercare in the afternoons. Look for information coming soon about an orientation meeting to meet the whole staff of CLS the week of August 14th.

FLEX enrichment programs are ready to rock and roll for the fall! Important Dates to note:

-Fall Schedule will be published in mid-August
-Fall Registration will open 8/21.

That’s all for now…don’t forget to finish your summer reading!
