Spring Into Enrollment Season!

Dear Lafayette Families,

Welcome back from Spring Break!  I hope everyone had a restful week with your families.  Hopefully spring weather will find us soon.

Believe it or not, it is ENROLLMENT SEASON!  All returning students must submit new enrollment paperwork for next year.  Our goal is for 100% of our students to be enrolled by May 11th.  The link to the paperwork is here.  The office is accepting paperwork from 8:15 am – 4:30 pm, and from 4:30 – 6:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday.

As a quick note, we have a few different attendance dates to note in April.  Friday, April 6th is  a ½ day for students – students are dismissed at 12:15 pm.  There is no school for students on Monday, 4/16 (Emancipation Day) or Friday, 4/27 (Teacher PD day).  Please mark your calendars.  These days will sneak up on us!

April is Disabilities Awareness Month and Autism Awareness month.  Every Wednesday our staff will be wearing our Autism awareness t-shirts to celebrate our students with different abilities and those on the spectrum.  We are tremendously grateful to have such a diverse community of students.  Here is a link to some additional resources.

April is also full of field trips and events.  Please keep an eye on your classroom calendar and the school calendar on the website.  Speaking of calendars, DCPS has recently released the school calendar for 2018-2019.  Click here for the link.

The primary focus for the next three weeks is enrollment!!!  The first classroom at each grade level to complete their paperwork wins a prize.  Spread the words, urge your neighbors, and let’s all work hard to get our paperwork in.  If we have all of our enrollment paperwork in early, it allows us to build class lists and release those lists the 1st of August.  If you aren’t planning to return, please let your teacher or the main office know.

See you in the office with your paperwork!
