Introducing the Wall o’ Money

Every year, the Auction provides a unique opportunity to fund a special initiative to benefit the students of Lafayette. Raise the Paddle has been the format of choice at past auctions. This year we are in trying a different approach by introducing the Wall o’ Money, and the initiative we are funding is…Technology!  As our school population expands, the need for cutting-edge technology, such as new laptops  and other resources is also growing.   We’re looking to raise $20,000 towards the $80,000 funding initiative to improve Technology at our school.  Need more convincing?  Watch this short video made by Lafayette’s technology guru, Mr. Wieand.

Auction guests will have the opportunity to remove a “shamrock” from the wall and anonymously give anywhere between $5 and $1500 until the live auction is over.  No donation is too big or too small – the goal is to clear the Wall o’ Money of all the Shamrocks!  Alright then—bang on!

The Emerald Isle, green shamrocks and green suited leprechauns.  It’s the perfect year to go GREEN.  The auction in online and all information is accessible via your smart phone or tablet.  Doing our part to save a couple of trees, this year our Auction Catalog will only feature the following categories:  Live, Class Creations, Lafayette Parties, and Teacher Treats.  Also, since all bidding (except for Live and Lafayette Parties) is done electronically, in a designated area in the cafeteria all Auction items will be listed by category, number and name during the auction.  Descriptions, value and minimum bid will only be found on our 501 auction website during the event.  Be sure to go to to browse all Auction categories.  Start planning your strategy now—some items are going to hot, hot, hot.

Wear your lucky green and we look forward to seeing you there!
