Today, we learned a very important lesson about bees – when it starts to get cold, they leave the ground in swarms and are really quite irritated. Outdoor lunch today was a hands-on lesson in how large groups of bees can be really intimidating!
Needless to say, many of our grade levels quickly went back inside to avoid the swarms of bees. Teachers also provided additional time for any students who needed to finish eating. Unfortunately, a few students and staff were stung, but I think most of us made it out unscathed. If your child tells you of the excitement today….they aren’t kidding. We’ll chalk this up to yet another adventure in nature.
