Love and Basketball

Lafayette Families….do you have a son or daughter who loves basketball and is looking for a new challenge? If so, the DMV 3v3 League is for you! Run by local coaches, this is a chance for your child to “up” their game in a fun and challenging environment, enhance their ball handling skills, and get a deeper sense of the game with smaller teams.

The DMV 3v3 Fall League will take place at St. John’s College High School on Sunday afternoons and evenings from late September through October. Elementary (Ages 7-10) play at 2:00-3:15 PM . Middle School (Ages 11-14) play at 3:30-4:45 PM/. High School (Ages 15-18) play at 5:00-6:15 PM. Lafayette kids have played in the league in the past, and are registered for the league currently.

Please register in the next week as sessions are likely to sell out. https://www.dmv3v3basketball.com/3v3fallleague.  The primary goals for 3V3 Basketball are to: develop skill and basketball IQ leading into winter seasons; get significant playing time and repetitions for everyone; learn man-to-man principles on offense and defense; and to have fun playing a growing version of basketball around the world.

Coach Bell’s Sports Pods

Looking for something to do after school or on school (but not work) holidays? Try Coach Bell’s after-school sports and group games groups as well as camp days on parent-teacher conference days and professional development days. https://coachbellsports.com/programs

These pods will be organized by grades 2nd & 3rd graders together one day a week and 4th & 5th graders one day a week. The groups will participate in different team sports as well as a variety of group games. These groups are small to work on both team and individual growth and development mentally, emotionally, and physically. There are so many core values and positive character traits you can gain from physical activities like perseverance, commitment, dedication, hard work, teamwork, discipline, integrity, sportsmanship, leadership, respect, responsibility, being unselfish, effort, communication, empathy, passion, develop a work ethic, and these different traits can help children at a very young age with self-awareness, self-confidence, self-respect, positive self-esteem, as well as building others up versus breaking others down. The entire program is centered around team building as well as individual growth through sports and group games.
