Interested in Little League Baseball or Softball?

Capitol City Little League (Cap City) offers Spring and Fall baseball and softball for kids 4 to 14 years old. Cap City is open to kids who reside in and/or attend school within specific boundaries of NW DC, including Lafayette Elementary School.

Register now for our Spring 2023 season! The Spring season begins in late March/early April and runs through mid-June. For more information and to register, go to capcityll.org

Sign up for Lafayette Winter Indoor Tennis!

The Lafayette Tennis Association has launched its registration for our Winter tennis indoor program. Details are on our website and you can register here.

-Where: Chevy Chase Community Center (basement/game room)
-Age: 4-9 years old (we will be playing with foam balls and mini-nets). If your child is 10 and interested, please contact us.
-When: M-F: 3:30, 4:30 and 5:50 (weekly one-hour classes)
-Dates: Monday, December 5 – Friday, February 24
-Price: $30/class or $300 for the 10-week season (you can also pro-rate the season if you’d like to enroll your child starting in January).

-Tennis gear: If you need to buy a racquet, we have a new relationship with Tennis Zone (4839 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, WDC) where you can get 10% off (mention LTA) and they can help you pick a racquet that’s appropriate for your kid’s size.

In addition, we may offer an adult outdoor tennis program in January. (We had a terrific Fall season with 75 players!) We are gauging interest in adult tennis overall — if you’re interested, please fill out this quicsurvey.

Looking for FUN and ACTIVE camps for your children when school is out for the holidays?

HoopEd All Sports and Games Winter Break Camp is at Lafayette!
(partial week available)

Camp is $95-$325 depending on the number of days you register for.
Camp runs 9:00-3:00
Aftercare is $10/day & runs until 5:30

Kids will spend each day rotating around all different sports in an environment where coaches teach the rules of the playground, incorporate all of the kids regardless of abilities, and stress the important lessons of sportsmanship and being honest in play. Games include everything from kickball, soccer, flag football, whiffle ball, and basketball to all sorts of dodge ball games, capture the flag, and even old school “kick the can!” Boys and girls ages 5 to 13 are welcome. The HoopEd coaches create an environment where kids of all skill levels and abilities feel comfortable and included. Although we always compete to win, the spirit of the game and FUN is at the center of everything we do. Simply put, kids have fun and learn by DOING!

Enroll today in Wednesday winter outdoor after school classes with DMV EcoAdventures K-3rd graders

Lafayette Elementary K-3rd Grade Students- join DMV EcoAdventures for a Wednesday outdoor after school program from 3:15-4:45pm, December 7- January 18th, 2022 (3:05pm- 4:45pm for K students. No class December 28th), that will spark your creativity and wonder of the outdoors, as we get to know local plant and animal life in our local neighborhood and parks in a small group environment (max 6 kids).

The program’s teacher, Ellen, is an environmental educator, having worked for the Audubon Society and NYC Public Schools and loves talking icicles, birds, bugs and more with children. Each class is $55 with pick up from Lafayette Elementary plus a registration fee ($45 1st -3rd graders or $75 Kindergarten students). Email  TODAY for more information & to register in the 6 class session. The upper elementary session has sold out and this K-3rd session is expected to sell out too.
