5th Grade Families – HERE WE GROW! Sign up to visit Alice Deal Middle School Open House on Saturday April 29th, 2023. You will meet current Deal Middle Schoolers, participate in a student guided tour and connect with Principal Neal for a Q&A session. This is a great opportunity to see what’s happening at Deal and be part of our vibrant community of friends and families.
Open House is from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tours will gather at the door to the far left when facing the front of the building (6th grade main door).
Deal will also be hosting our annual Big Deal Day, Deal Mulch & Plant Sale, Student Entrepreneur Fair, ADCA Board Meet & Greet: accepting nominations for SY23/24 volunteers and as a bonus come ready to complete your enrollment when you come for a visit! Free Science Camp for Rising 6th Graders: Now Accepting Applications through April 28th!
Do you like math and science? Are you a rising 6th or 7th grader? Do you want to think like a data detective? If so, consider applying to the Data Detectives Camp conducted by CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS).
The NCHS Data Detectives Camp is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) summer camp that focuses on teaching statistics to rising 6th and 7th grade students. Camp activities cover statistical concepts to help teach kids to think like a data detective by asking the right questions, collecting needed information, analyzing the data, and determining the answers.
The camp will take place August 21 – 25, 2023 at the NCHS headquarters in Hyattsville, Maryland. There is no fee for registering or attending the Camp.
DC United DCPS Night
DC United is having a DCPS night on May 13th this year. It is an opportunity for members of the Lafayette community to get together with other DCPS schools at a soccer match. Tickets start at $25.
