Not long after we went online, DCPS began a great series of workshops for families called Parent University, focusing on technology, social-emotional learning, and other helpful topics. These workshops continue, including some important ones this week! Tuesday the 17th, at 3:00 p.m., they’re presenting a session on “Supporting Specialized Instruction During Learning at Home.” Learn more and how to attend. On Thursday, August 20 at 5:30 p.m., education technology experts from the DCPS Office of Teaching and Learning will guide families through how to use Canvas, Microsoft Teams, and other online tools for students. Learn more and sign up to attend.
Upcoming sessions include helping your student cope with trauma, navigating the IEP process, and attendance. You can see all offerings on Eventbrite; check back for more later! All sessions are recorded and archived on the DCPS YouTube channel to watch on your own. You can watch last year’s workshops, and this year’s will be posted after each session.
