Drop Off Safety Reminders

Safety and drop off and pick up safety continues to be a primary concern for all of us.  Last week we had a fender bender in the drop off lane that caused an injury to a staff member.  As the weather gets colder and wetter, we will see more and more bad habits emerge.  We must work together to ensure the safety of our students and staff.  Please remember the following:

  • Go slow in the drop off line, and stay alert. Your student must be able to leave the car on their own.  If they cannot, please park and walk them in.  Our volunteers are only there to open the car doors.

  • Do not let students cross in the middle of the street!!! This is true for Northampton and Broad Branch Rd.  STUDENTS and ADULTS must use the crosswalks. The extra 15 seconds you save by darting across the street is not worth the injuries that can be sustained.

  • The parking lot is not available for drop off or pick up. Please do not enter the parking lot for any reason.

Thank you for your commitment to helping all of us stay safe!!  If we all work together, I know we can do it.
