The annual Lafayette Book Fair is all next week: December 9th-13th
How It Works: The book fair is open all day Monday-Thursday 8-5 and Friday 8-3:30 for parents to shop. Each class of students will also have a dedicated time to look and shop. You can see the class schedule here.
Who Makes it Happen: We all do! The book fair is staffed by parents, and we still have some slots to fill. If you haven’t signed up already, we need people Monday through Thursday afternoons 2:30:-4:30 and 3-5 slots as well as during the Friday break down 3:30-5:30. No clearance needed! Sign up here.
Who Supplies the Books: This year Follett Book Fairs is curating the books that will be for sale.
How Does My Child Pay? Your child can either bring in cash or a prepaid Follett giftcard which allows families to select the amount they would like and print it at home. After the fair, any leftover balance can be redeemed at Follett’s online store.
How Can I Pay? For adult shoppers, we will be accepting cash, credit, and checks made payable to Lafayette HSA.
Who Does the Book Fair Benefit? Both Lafayette as well as our sister school, Takoma Education Campus:
- A percentage of the proceeds will help stock Lafayette’s library shelves
- When getting books for your own kids, please consider buying books for the kids at TEC as well. TEC is specifically requesting books for kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade. We hope we can get as many parents as possible to participate and help “fill the shelf”.
