Lafayette’s annual Day of Service is coming up on Saturday, January 26th from 1:00-3:00 (this is a drop-in event)! Please click here to RSVP so we’ll be sure to have enough supplies on hand for all participants. All Lafayette students and their families are invited to join us for this event where the kids will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of hands-on activities in support of organizations fighting poverty in the DC area.
This year we’re asking for donations from families to help make the day a success. You can help by: 1- signing up to bring items to the event via SignUp Genius; 2- purchasing an item on this Amazon wish list; or 3- dropping off some of the following items in the bin labeled “Day of Service” in the main entrance: diapers sized 3-6; new hats, gloves, warm socks (all items needed in both adult and children’s sizes); unused chapstick or small tubes of lotion.
We’re seeking middle and high-school students to help set-up, clean-up and facilitate the activities. If you know of students who would like to earn community service hours, or who would just enjoy the chance to help, please have them contact Katie Burke.
We look forward to joining together as a school community to raise awareness around the needs faced by others, and to contribute in a meaningful way. Thank you!
