Lafayette Gives Back In-Person Day of Service: MLK Day, Jan 16th

A very happy new year to you from Lafayette Gives Back!!! We are excited for Lafayette’s first in-person day of service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Save the date for Monday, January 16th from 1 to 4 pm for you and your children to participate in a wide variety of great service activities in the Lafayette cafeteria.   We are partnering with five organizations focused on homelessness, seniors, refugees, and animals.  We are planning service activities including preparing support packages, meals, mementos, and pet toys.

We have a number of volunteer opportunities for adults and older kids before and during this event.  Please sign up here to volunteer. We are also collecting items starting tomorrow that will help make our service event a success. Please drop off the following items at the Lafayette Gives Back collection box at the front school entrance:
– travel-sized toiletries (especially looking for conditioner, shaving cream, toothpaste, chapstick, small lotion — and the travel kits that airlines give you are great! We’ll take them!)
– any size diapers
– packages of menstrual products for women (pads only, no tampons)
– baby wipes
– kid-sized pants (no rips or stains)
– OLD t-shirts … yes, old ones that can even have stains or rips on them! any size, can be long-sleeve or short-sleeve!

We will also be collecting items at the event.
