Lafayette Gives Back Senior Care Bags-Still Need Volunteers!

Warm thanks to everyone who has already signed up and dropped off the lovely and uplifting Care Bags for our Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service project! Because of omicron, we defaulted to a COVID-safe activity but the impact is still huge. Our partners at Goods for Good could not stop enthusing about the beauty of the bags we have already delivered from the Lafayette community. (Whoever produced the Care Bags with the small cacti and the note “have a fan-cactus year” is our hero!)

If you haven’t signed up yet to create a Care Bag for an isolated low-income senior in DC, please click below. We are sooo close to 100 bags — we just need 16 more sign-ups!

Because this project is intended to take the place of our in-person service event, we encourage you to engage your kids — go shopping together and allow your kids to pick out little items to include, set aside time to make a craft or card, go crazy on the cheerful decorations!

Specific instructions will be provided on the Sign Up genius about the Care Bags; please don’t hesitate to email us at with any additional questions.
