Lafayette Gives Back: Thanksgiving, Coat Drive, MLK Day of Service

Hello Lafayette community! Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we hope that everyone has a happy and safe holiday with their friends and family. However, sometimes the holiday season can bring added emotional and financial stress.  Please consider buying a $50 Safeway gift card to help families in need in our Lafayette school community.  We’d like to get all cards in the hands of Ms. Diesner by November 17 if possible so that she has a few days to distribute to families before the Thanksgiving break.  Check out the Thanksgiving Grocery Card Gift List created on Amazon.

We are also collecting coats, hoodies and winter gear for Lafayette and Takoma Elementary School families through November 15th.  Washed items can be delivered to Lafayette or 3300 Rittenhouse.

As always, please don’t hesitate to email with any questions or to reach out to volunteer. We’ve got our eye on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on January 16 — our first time we are able to hold this service event since 2020! We can’t wait to have your participation in both planning and on that day.
