Happy Friday! We have come to the end of another week of summer. As we near the Mayor’s announcement on July 31st, there are a couple of action items for families:
- Please complete the Technology Survey from DCPS by 6 pm on 7/31/2020.#ReopenStrong requires tech readiness. We know all students will engage in learning at home in some capacity and are asking families to share with us their technology needs for each DCPS student in their household to help inform our planning. We are committed to promoting equity by ensuring every student has access to the supplies and supports they need for a safe return to learning.
Please take 5 minutes to complete a short technology access survey about device need and high-speed internet connectivity.
The survey will stay open through August, but we encourage families to complete the questionnaire by 6:00 p.m. on July 31.
- Retrieving Belongings and Yearbooks
We are still waiting on the green light from DCPS. However, we anticipate creating a schedule where one member of a family will come to school to retrieve the students’ belongings. All student belongings have been placed in bags and labeled with the student’s name.
Yearbooks have been ordered and are headed our way! We hope to distribute them when parents come to school to retrieve belongings
- Summer Bridge – Confirmation and Technology Request (Rising 3rd Grade only)
Now that Summer Bridge is all virtual, we need to confirm the students that plan to attend. We also need to know who
needs a laptop to participate. Please fill out this 4 Question Survey: Summer Bridge Survey
- Save the Date! – We will have a community meeting on Saturday, August 1st at 10 am to discuss the next steps for whatever the Mayor announces on Friday, July 31st. Please save the date and join us at this link:

Thank you as always for your continued patience, trust, and commitment to our public school community. I cannot encourage us enough to stay together as a community. I know there are many unknowns, but we have always been stronger together and this is no exception. Our students need us to stay committed to one another as a public school community. More to come as soon as we have solid information.
Be well and take care,
