The Lafayette Spring Reading Challenge is underway! Have your readers been logging their minutes on Beanstack? The class that reads the most minutes per student will win books for their classroom library! The winning class will get to suggest books for purchase.
At the moment, Ms. Cobb’s and Ms. Skubel’s third grade classes are dominating the competition! Both classes read more than 5,000 minutes in the first week of the challenge. It’s not too late for your class to catch up! Minutes can be logged retroactively. If your student didn’t log
any minutes last week, they can access Beanstack through Clever and log the time they read. You can learn more about using Beanstack and the Beanstack Tracker app on the library website (link on the Lafayette Tech page). The spring reading challenge ends on Sunday, April 21.
What counts as reading? Books, ebooks, audiobooks, reading aloud, graphic novels, web articles, magazines–they all provide a rich literacy experience for our students! The best way to become a better reader is to read; carve out time this spring for books!
