Vote Now for HSA and LSAT Candidates

Dear Lafayette families,

Thank you for your continued support of our school community as well as engagement with our two Home School Association votes thus far. The pandemic delayed our election (usually held in the spring) for both the Home School Association and Local School Advisory Team. These are usually separate elections but the sake of efficiency, we are combining on one ballot via virtual vote for both the HSA and LSAT positions.

As a reminder, the Lafayette Home and School Association (HSA) is a group of volunteer parents, Lafayette staff, and members of the local community. The HSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group, similar to a traditional PTA. The HSA’s primary mission is to bring home and school closer together, promoting cooperation among parents, teachers, and other staff, the community, and the D.C. government, and to work for the best interests of the children. Read more about the HSA here.

The Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) is comprised of elected and appointed members, including parents, teachers, non-instructional school staff, and community members. The LSAT gives non-binding advice to the School Principal on school priorities, the Comprehensive School Plan (CSP) and budgetary issues. Read more about the LSAT here.

You can read the statements of the HSA candidates here as well as the LSAT candidates here.

Virtual voting is now open through September 30. Click here to vote today.

We realize that we have asked for many votes this year already and as always, appreciate your continued engagement and support.

Sincerely,
The HSA Board and LSAT Representatives
