Online Art Classes in June with the Children's Art Studio
Turn screen time into creative time with online classes from Children’s Art Studio. More than ever, children need safe, fun outlets to feed their imaginations, interact with peers and manage stress.
In our weekly Zoom classes, a professional instructor will guide your budding artist through a series of drawing and painting exercises. They’ll learn new techniques, experiment with different styles, complete fridge- and frame-worthy projects, and develop a love for creating that lasts long after class ends. Most important, they’ll realize the tremendous social, emotional and developmental growth and benefits linked to artistic creativity and expression.

Registration for Summer Tennis Camps at Lafayette Park (Ages 6-17)
With Mayor Bowser’s announcement of the opening of DC last week we received the official green light from DC Parks and Recreation to allow the Lafayette Tennis Association to have our Summer Tennis Camps. Registration has been open since March 15 for our Half Day Summer Tennis Camps at Lafayette Park starting the week of June 28th and running for the next 9 weeks. Morning camp will run from 8:30AM through Noon. Afternoon camp will run from 1:00PM until 4:30PM. Campers are permitted to sign up for the Morning and Afternoon sessions. Because of the pandemic and the possibility of having campers who are younger than 12 we will still be implementing a COVID-safe camp. These will be smaller camp cohorts that will keep the children safely distanced while they run around their half of the tennis courts hitting balls. The camp will be separated into 4 cohorts. All campers will be kept with their cohort during the entire camp session on one half of the tennis court. There are still many openings (16) in the morning sessions and lots of openings (130) in the afternoon sessions. You can put your camper on a week’s waitlist as families are still making camp arrangements and changing weeks.
Sorry we don’t have a smartphone app for registration. Using a browser on your PC or Mac (screens don't fit well on a smartphone), To register go to
https://lafayettetennisdmv.jumbula.com/#/lta-home
You can register for each camp session individually. Or if you have a pod of friends/family/classmates that you would like to keep safely cohorted together in a camp session, then send me an email with the list of names, ages, tennis skill level, date and time preferred. I will then attempt to form a pod class whose registration can only be accessed via a password as I did for the Spring classes.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful school year. Please let me know if you have any questions. Paul Rosenbaum 202 441-0925 paulr@lafayettetennis.org

Submissions for next week's issue should be emailed to news@lafayettehsa.org. Submissions are due by 9:00 p.m. on Sundays. Submissions received after this time will be included in the following issue, unless instructed otherwise.
