Unfortunately, we can't invite those helpful kiddos as I can't cross cohorts but if you have an hour or a morning to spare, please let me know! A HUGE thanks to parent Axelle Harasty who already has helped get …

Meet the HSA Candidates

Meet the HSA Candidates
VOTING for HSA ELECTIONS BEGINS ON JUNE 8! As a reminder the HSA is our Home School Association, similar to a traditional PTA. Spaces Still Open for Half Day Summer Tennis Camps at Lafayette Park (Ages 6-17)
Our Half Day Summer Tennis Camps at Lafayette Park will start the week of June 28th and running for 9 weeks. Morning camp will run from 8:30AM through Noon. Afternoon camp will run from 1:00PM until 4:30PM. Campers are permitted to sign up for the Morning and Afternoon sessions. A $50 Coupon is available if you sign your camper up for both camps. Because of the possibility of having campers who are younger than 12 we will still be implementing a COVID-safe camp. The camp will be separated into 4 cohorts. All campers will be kept with their cohort during the entire camp session on one half of the tennis court. There are still a few openings (2) in the morning sessions and lots of openings (116) in the afternoon sessions. You can still put your camper on a week’s waitlist as families are still making camp arrangements and changing weeks.

Sorry we don’t have a smartphone app for registration. Using a browser on your PC or Mac (screens don't fit well on a smartphone), To register go to

Survey: Chevy Chase Small Area Plan
DC’s Office of Planning is undertaking a Small Area Plan (SAP) process for upper Connecticut Ave (Livingston St to the circle) as part of the comprehensive plan and the Mayor’s initiative to create affordable housing units in the Rock Creek West planning area.

The Office of Planning very much wants to hear from younger residents/families through the visioning survey that is now underway, as well as future workshops. The entirety of the SAP lies within Lafayette’s boundary.

The DC Office of Planning is undertaking the Chevy Chase Small Area Plan focused along Connecticut Avenue, NW, and invites you to take the Visioning Survey (closes June 24) and register for one of four upcoming virtual Visioning Workshops on June 5, 8, 9, or 10. Information gathered from the survey and workshops will help to inform the plan’s vision and goals for a more inclusive Chevy Chase. Local parents with school-aged children are a growing demographic in the area and encouraged to share their voice in this process. The Chevy Chase Small Area Plan will explore:
  • Increasing opportunities for a range of household sizes & incomes (eg. affordable housing).
  • A reimagined Chevy Chase Library and Community Center that can also accommodate housing.
  • A thriving and sustainable Connecticut Avenue main street.
  • Neighborhood identity and story-telling in public spaces.
  • Supporting safe and comfortable neighborhood mobility for all ages and abilities.
To learn more about the plan, take the survey, and register for a workshop, visit publicinput.com/chevychase.
