Calling all Tennis Pods to Spring into Action Starting March 14 – Registration Opens February 8, 2022

The Lafayette Tennis Association will be offering some outdoor tennis exercise in the afternoons. We will have virus-safe hour long classes of up to 5 players on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 3:30PM, 4:30PM and 5:30PM on the two upper courts at Lafayette-Pointer Park for 13 weeks. If your tennis player/s has a pod of family, friends and/or classmates, you can register for the same class and play tennis with them. You can register for a class time on your own, or contact Paul Rosenbaum or text at 202 441-0925 so he can reserve a class time by day, time, age and skill level that your tennis player/s and their podmates (cohort) can secure with password access.

The classes are smaller than in the past so they will be filling up quickly. You can waitlist for a particular class. We will be using all appropriate COVID-19 safety measures to ensure that we are enjoying tennis in a safe mode. Participants must be vaccinated. Age range for classes are 5-16. Class skill levels are for beginner, advanced beginner and intermediate tennis players.

Contact Paul Rosenbaum if you have any additional questions or need help getting through the registration.

2022 Lafayette Summer Camp registration will also be opening soon.

Flagstar Football for Boys and Girls

For any folks new to town (or considering trying a new sport!): Registration for Flag Star Football's Spring Flag Football season is happening now!

The season is run by Flag Star Football, a league with two goals: Get Better and Have Fun. No screaming coaches, no midweek practices -- just fun, teamwork and some fresh air on a weekend afternoon. It’s organized, it’s active and it’s run by a super positive/fun/competent set of staff.

This is a league for everyone – boys and girls, athletes and bookworms – and is committed to full-inclusion (financial aid available). You can register for the league here, find out more about times/locations here, or e-mail Nikki Turner (Flag Star's Scheduling/Rostering Wizard) at Nikki@flagstarfootball.com with any other questions.

'Free Agent' registration closes on February 18th -- and the league really is something cool -- so save your spot if you're interested! They also have Summer Camp options and an 'Elite' program, but that Feb. 18 deadline is for the "rec" league (where most folks end up playing).
