I hope you enjoyed the Fall Festival! Events like Fall Festival wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of the Lafayette community and, in particular, the members of the Lafayette Home and School Association.
|
With the leaves finally beginning to turn and another school year in full swing, I am reaching out to ask you to join Lafayette’s HSA by participating in our “Fall Back into Lafayette” fundraising and membership campaign.
|
The money raised by the HSA supplements the budget provided by DCPS. The Lafayette HSA pays for much of the arts, music and mindfulness instruction enjoyed by our students. We support extra learning in science, technology, engineering and math. The HSA funds grants for teachers’ professional development and grade-level activities. Our fundraising also provides necessary school and art supplies as well as uniforms for our Bears sports teams.

Those activities, services, and academic and extracurricular programs will cost more than $150,000 this school year alone. We need your help to be able to do this! Our goal with this campaign isn’t just to raise money – we want to get every family to join the HSA. Becoming members of the HSA allows you to vote on critical matters, such as the HSA budget, priorities for funding and the election of board members. We need your voice, your passion and your expertise to strengthen our school community.

We encourage everyone to attend the HSA general meeting on Nov. 2 and please join us for several smaller events this fall as we look to connect in more intimate settings:

November 6—Coffee and Doughnuts at Drop Off to Celebrate Falling Back
November 18—Wine and Cheese at a TBD Board Members house
December 21—The End of Fall Back Hot Chocolate at Drop Off
