A Wee Bit O’ Wine is Fine!
Lafayette Annual Wine Party
As the saying goes, drinking good wine with good food in good company is one of life’s most civilized pleasures. With that in mind we cordially invite you to reserve a spot at one of the auction's early and ever-popular fundraisers -- the annual Lafayette Wine Party.
When: Saturday, February 24, at 8:00 PM
Where: The home of Kendal and Mike McManus
New to the scene or never attended in the past? You are in for a treat. This is a special evening for Lafayette moms and dads to enjoy some camaraderie and wine tasting, all with the goal of helping our school. The party happens the month before the actual auction, and its goal is to accumulate a quantity of quality wines that are then offered for bidding during the auction.
The first 60 people to make reservations join the festivities with a simple price of admission. Each couple, as well as each single person or single person with a guest, brings a "luxury" wine of their choosing worth $75 or more and with a rating of 92+ points. These luxury wine donations will then go to the highest bidders at the school auction on March 17th. Each guest is also asked to contribute $20 to help cover the cost of the tasting wines that will be served at the party.
If you wish to attend the Wine Party, please email Eileen Dombo as soon as possible. This event sells out quickly every year!
Looking forward to seeing you!

Addicted to NPR? What about Morning Edition? Ever wonder what the studio looks like or why certain topics make a show and others do not? Then boy, do we have the perfect package for you!
Get an inside look at how your favorite public radio personalities put together the news you hear on your radio (phone, smart speaker etc!). NPR Morning Edition host (and Lafayette parent) Rachel Martin will be the tour guide for you and one guest. Get an inside look at all the studios where some of your favorite programs are recorded. Grab breakfast in the NPR cafe and then you'll get to sit in for the first part of the Morning Edition daily editorial meeting where all the decisions are made about what to put on the show and why. This package also includes two NPR coffee mugs signed by Rachel and Morning Edition co-host Steve Inskeep. (NPR visit to be scheduled at a mutually convenient time for both the winner and Rachel Martin)

Our brilliant Lafayette art teachers deserve a round of applause!
The Irish have the fabled Betsy Gray, fearless Grace O’Malley and brave Queen Maeve—great ladies no doubt. Not to be outdone, Lafayette has Laurie McLaughlin and Andrea Perll. Sure, they may be hard pressed to compete with the heroines of Irish lore, but I’d like to see any one of the Irish lasses compare when it comes to inspiring our wee lads and lassies to create amazing works of art. Committed to our school and the auction, both of these art heroines are busy working with our children to create fabulous decorations for Auction night. We THANK them for their brilliance, patience and creativity!

You Heard it Here First
What’s the latest Auction craic (gossip)?
You know to come to the school dressed in green on Auction night. You know that there will be plenty to eat, drink and bid on. But what you may not know, is that when the bidding is done, it will be time to create a bit o’ mischief and rev the party up to a nice respectable level at the local pub! With a wee bit of magic and a whole lot of luck, the halls of the Lafayette will be transformed into an Irish pub. Lafayette’s Harp & Fiddle will be the place to be, come Auction night. With live music, open bars, billiards and darts, it is sure to rival any pub your visited state side or on the Emerald Isle. So, make sure you have your babysitter booked and are planning to stay to the very end because this party is going to be a whale of a time.
