Alice Deal Community Yard Sale & Spring Celebration - April 14

Come on out to Alice Deal on Saturday April 14 for an old fashioned community celebration from 9 to 3 PM. We're hosting a community yard sale, plant sale, bike swap and beautification day. Plus food and drink and more exciting announcements to come. Click here for more.

We’re looking to display all the great things the deal community has to offer at our yard sale - Clean out your closets, showcase your artistic or baking skills, promote your company or your professional services. We've got tables for DCPS students, DCPS staff, families, non-profits and vendors at the Yard Sale. Reserve your table today. All table reservation fees go towards supporting the community celebration.

Spruce up your homes, gardens and the middle school we love so much - We're creating a pop-up early spring plant and garden supply store for the day. Stop by and get your garden growing. And we're setting up a community bike swap. You can also help beautify our campus.

Sign up to volunteer here. It's a great thing for students looking for community service hours and Deal parents, alumni and alumni parents.

We're also looking for local companies to sponsor. Sponsorships will go towards plants, flowers and beautification at Alice Deal.

Thanks for supporting.

Clean Up!

Do you know we live in the Rock Creek watershed? That means, all the water that runs off our yards and streets, and the garbage carried with it, ends up in Rock Creek. That water then flows to the Potomac River, into the Chesapeake Bay, and out to the Atlantic Ocean. April 14 is the 10th Annual Rock Creek Extreme Cleanup–a day when people go to dozens of sites all around the watershed to cleanup the garbage that has accumulated over the winter, and keep it out of the creek.

I hate seeing trash around our neighborhood, so I asked my mom to sign me up to be a site boss for the Extreme Cleanup. My location is Little Forest Park (a.k.a. Francis G. Newlands Park on Google Maps) off Military Rd between 28th and 30th Streets. Please come pick up trash with me, and help the animals who could be hurt by the glass, plastic and styrofoam.

My site is not on the public Extreme Cleanup list. Please use this link to sign up to be on my crew. Details are on the sign-up page. More general information about the Extreme Cleanup is available at: https://www.rockcreekconservancy.org/what-we-do/upcoming-events/extreme-cleanup

See you there, please be green!
