MidSummer Updates
Happy mid-July! I hope this email finds you all enjoying one another and the summer weeks. Things are very quiet at school right now as we deep clean the building, finish up hiring, and put the finishing touches on class lists.

Are you a parent of a rising Kindergarten student? Mark your calendars for Friday, 8/17 from 2 pm – 3 pm. The Kindergarten teachers and paraprofessionals will be hosting an “Open House and Supply Drop Off”. This is an opportunity to bring your student and their giant bag of school supplies to check out their new classroom! The teachers will be available in the classrooms during this time for you and your family to say hi and introduce yourselves.

Did you miss out on ordering a yearbook for the 2017-2018 school year??? Dry those tears – they are now available for a limited time through July 31st. Go online to freedpics.com. Use password LAF1718YB. Each book is only $23 for pages of priceless memories.

Wanna meet some new families? The HSA is sponsoring grade level playdates during the summer. The playdates are geared for “new to Lafayette” families of all ages. Email Nedra Pickler (HSA Outreach Coordinator) at nedrapickler@hotmail.com. She will provide you with dates, times, and locations for the playdates by grade level.

August 20th – First Day of School for Kindergarten – 5th grade

August 27th – First Full Day of PreK4 (see the transition schedule for the week of 8/20)

August 28th – Back to School Night (PK4 and KDG)
|
|
August 29th – Back to School Night (1st and 2nd grades)
|
August 30th – Back to School Night (3rd – 5th grades)

Please travel safely, rest well, and enjoy one another through the hot days of July. As always, don’t hesitate to stop by and see us in the main office. Summer office hours are 9 am – 3 pm Monday – Friday. Also feel free to email or call! We are looking forward to seeing everyone back very soon in August!
