The 37th annual bee was a fifth grade sweep! Congratulations to this year’s Lafayette spelling bee champs! Jessie Moss, first place; Lucia Ridgeway, second place, and Luca Nescovic, third place. Community Notices

Capitol City Little League is hosting a free clinic for area girls and their parents to get a chance to learn about softball and the CCLL softball program. This clinic is designed for girls with no prior softball experience, It will be a fun opportunity to learn about softball.

Date: Saturday, January 26
Time: 3:15 pm - 4:45 pm Location: Edmund Burke School gymnasium, 4101 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC (gym entrance is on Upton Street)

Cost: Free!

Eligibility: Girls, grades pre-K to 5

Equipment: Glove is optional; a water bottle is recommended. No cleats please.

Register by e-mailing softball@capcityll.org. Please include participant's name, age, and school in the e-mail. You can also register at the clinic, but advance registration is preferable.

Register your softballer for the spring 2019 Capitol City Little League season today! Registration ends February 28th.

Submissions for next week's issue should be emailed to news@lafayettehsa.org. Submissions are due by 9:00 p.m. on Sundays. Submissions received after this time will be included in the following issue, unless instructed otherwise.
