Happy post-Valentines Day Lafayette families! We are five weeks away from our international departure for the 2019 Spring Auction. We know the February break will send many families traveling, so please take a moment to plan ahead and share your ideas for donations, sponsorships, and performances before you travel! And of course, buy your tickets!!

Calling International Families!
We love the “home country” collaborations from families across the school that are coming together to offer fellow Lafayette families a taste of home/their heritage. Shout out to the Danes that have come together to sponsor or create a special Denmark experience for the auction!

Each region of the auction: The Americas, Asia, Middle East/Africa, and Europe will feature a visual, tasting, or hands on experience for guests to enjoy throughout the evening.

Can you bring an idea to life for one of these regions? Origami demonstrations? Henna tattoo? Basket weaving? Sake tasting? Tequila tasting? A taste of home? Team up with your fellow parents to bring it to life or to sponsor an experience or region.

Or perhaps you want to host a Parent Party as a group! Swedish Dinner Party? German Bier Garten? Chinese Dumpling Making? Secret Family Mole Recipe Lesson?

Stock the Bar Party: March 2nd
Now Accepting Pre-Boarding at the Diplomatic Lounge
Before you tour around the globe at the 2019 Auction Night, get in line for pre-boarding by joining the Stock the Bar Party on Saturday, March 2, from 8pm-11pm.

On March 2nd, bring your favorite bottle to pass through customs and get a passport preview of Auction Night with some international drinks and treats. Most importantly, you will be helping to stock the bar for the 2019 Diplomatic Ties Auction Night.

Please RSVP here and choose your choice of one premium bottle of liquor (tequila, bourbon, vodka, gin) priced at $35 or higher (for couple or individual) that will be used for the Auction bar- make it good as our TSA Screeners have a very discerning taste! Visit our annual sponsor, Magruder's, as they are happy to provide their recommendations. We will gather your “donation" at the door, and then you have the night to enjoy an evening of drinks and fun with other Lafayette parents.

Space is limited, but we need to “sell out” this party in order to have a fully stocked bar at the auction, so please RSVP or email Astrid with any questions.

Ask Your Neighbors, Ask Your Boss!
One of the best ways to ensure the Diplomatic Ties Auction will be an amazing experience for you and your friends (and be a phenomenal fundraiser for Lafayette!) is through sponsorships. We have some pretty amazing opportunities still available and would love for you to consider if your work, family or a group of friends might sponsor one of these items!

Five Weeks to Go!
We can’t wait to see you on March 16th. So here’s a to-do list to make sure we do!

- Secure the babysitter.
- Break out your best traditional dress from your home country, internationally inspired outfit, or wear your best globally inspired tie or scarf.
- Purchase your tickets.
- Encourage your fellow parents and caregivers to buy tickets.
- Donate your time, items, ideas to make the auction a success.
- Come ready to celebrate and bid!
