Tennis Programs at Lafayette Park this Fall
We had a fantastic summer of tennis camps at Lafayette Park. We had 10 weeks of tennis for campers ranging in age from 4 to 15. We took some of them over to the Citi Open professional tennis tournament at the Rock Creek Tennis Center to see many great tennis players including the 15 year old Coco Gauff who beat Venus Williams at Wimbledon. The campers improved their tennis games and learned how to keep cool in the hot summer sun. Now we are gearing up for the Fall Afterschool programs. We have two programs you can use:
Flex Enrichment Tennis Classes – Monday through Thursday 3:30-4:30 for Lafayette ES students only
The Flex enrichment program starts September 24 and runs through November 30. Registration for it opens on September 3. There will be classes for the following class groups:
Monday PreK-K 3-5
Tuesday PreK-K 1-2
Wednesday 1-2 3-5
Thursday PreK-K 1-3
Lafayette Afterschool Tennis (LAT) – Monday – Thursday 4:30-6:30 and Friday 3:30-5:30 for the entire community
The LAT tennis programs start on September 3rd and run through November 18. Registration opened on August 24. The classes are for beginner, advanced beginner and intermediate tennis players ranging in age from 5 (4+) to 15. Anyone living in the general area can sign up for these classes. Go to www.LafayetteTennis.org to see when the different types of classes are available.
This year we will be using an online registration system that is similar to the Flex Enrichment system. Please go to https://lafayettetennisdmv.jumbula.com/#/home
Lafayette ES parents will have to create new accounts for the LAT program. Much of the information is similar to the Flex registration. This will speed up the registration and payment process. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Paul Rosenbaum at 202 441-0925 or rosenbaumpaul@msn.com.
There are also tennis classes for adults in the mornings right after you drop off your kids at Lafayette or at 6:30PM in the evening after a long day of work. Go to www.lafayettetennis.org to register for those classes also.
