LSAT Header (2)
Dear Lafayette Families,

It’s the annual election season for the Local School Advisory Team (LSAT)! Nominations are due by April 27. The LSAT election is your opportunity as parents and guardians to join a team that focuses on budget, academic, and school climate issues among many others. It’s also an opportunity to help ensure that decisions are representative of the entire school body.

We, the current LSAT, would like to encourage parents and guardians who have not served on the LSAT to volunteer. Your voices and input are critical to ensuring that all parents and guardians have a voice at Lafayette.

The one year LSAT term begins on July 1, 2022, with transition discussions occurring before the end of the DCPS school year.

Both LSAT and HSA are operating elections on the same schedule to streamline the process for you.

Key dates for interested parents and guardians:
*Between now and April 27, LSAT candidates please send your short bios to Stephanie Kirchgaessner (Stephanie.Kirchgaessner@gmail.com) and Liz Ritchie (ritchie.elizabetha@gmail.com) who serve as the two LSAT co-secretaries. The bios of candidates will be posted by April 28. Online voting for the LSAT members will be open for 7 days, from May 10-16.

Here’s a slide from Dr. B that describes the difference between the HSA and LSAT.
