Book Jam: Super Fun Book Groups for Kids!

Does your child love to read? Or maybe you wish they would read more often? Encourage your child’s love of reading by signing them up for a Book Jam, specially
curated book discussion groups for elementary and middle school students. Kids who sign up for a Jam enjoy a five-week program that meets every week for an hour. Each session promotes small-group conversation, critical thinking, love of reading, and more. Book Jams can meet virtually over Zoom or outside—weather
permitting—at a safe social distance. Just gather your child’s favorite pals (groups of five or more) and sign up to get your Jam started! For questions and signups,
contact Marilyn Kitzes at 917-676-4461.

Marilyn Kitzes has worked as an advertising copywriter for 30 years. Although she loves writing and coaching student writing, she loves reading even more! With a mix of humor, silliness, and imagination, she knows how to get kids talking and exploring fresh ways of looking at characters and storytelling. A graduate of the University of Michigan (English major, of course!), she has also studied and performed theater and improv comedy.

Submissions for next week's issue should be emailed to news@lafayettehsa.org. Submissions are due by 9:00 p.m. on Sundays. Submissions received after this time will be included in the following issue, unless instructed otherwise.
