Dear HSA Board and Volunteers,
Thank you for volunteering with Lafayette’s Home & School Association! We are thrilled to have you on the HSA team and look forward to an amazing year working with all of you. We will be reaching out to each program area (Communications, Outreach, Community Programs, DEI, Fundraising, and Finance) to set up individual kick off meetings, but in the meantime, we have a few important announcements as we prepare for the upcoming school year.
First, as a point of clarification, we want to outline the following designations:
- The HSA Executive Board consists of the elected members of the board: the co-presidents, VP1, VP2, co-treasurers, and the secretary.
- The HSA Board consists of all executive board members plus the co-chairs of each program area (Communications, Outreach, Community Programs, DEI, Fundraising, and Finance). This group meets monthly.
- HSA Volunteers includes everyone just mentioned plus all committee members and program volunteers.
Volunteers Needed for Parent Huddles, Back to School Coffee, and our new Lafayette Hello Program!
As members of the HSA, we are responsible for our own individual programs but are also encouraged to be accessible and visible members of the community. We truly appreciate all that you have committed to for this school year, and we hope you’ll consider offering your support during some of our back-to-school events, specifically Parent Huddles, Back to School Coffee, and the new Lafayette Hello program. These are short, discreet volunteer opportunities and we really need your help. You can learn more and sign up on our general HSA volunteer SignUp Genius!
HSA Onboarding
In an effort to formalize and streamline some of our processes, we have put together training materials to help (new and old) HSA members onboard. We will discuss this during our kickoff meetings, but feel free to review the HSA Onboarding document on your own.
Save The Date for HSA Social and HSA General Meetings
Please save the date for our first HSA Social: Wednesday, September 13th. This will be a great opportunity to connect with old friends and meet new ones. We also hope you’ll join us for our four HSA General Meetings, the first of which will be Tuesday, September 20 at 7pm – the zoom link will be included on the school calendar on the HSA website soon. Board members will hold their first meeting on Tuesday, September 6 at 7pm. Keep an eye out for calendar invites coming soon.
