Drop-Off Line Best Practices

When using the drop-off line, it is extremely important to follow a few safety guidelines. When you pull up in the drop-off line, your child should be ready to hop right out of the car. There are parent volunteers to help them get out and with any gear they have, so drivers should stay in their cars. By the time you pull up to school, kids should be finished eating breakfast, packing up their backpacks or whatever else they do on the way to school. If your child is having a tough day and does not want to get out of the car, please drive forward, park a block or two away and escort them to school. The transition in line should be quick so as not to back up traffic and delay other kids getting to school. Also, please only allow your child to get out on the right-hand side of the car. We’ve had a few close calls with kids getting out into on-coming traffic on the other side.

Many thanks to 4th grade parents who have been terrific in signing up to volunteer to assist!
